Experienced Representation When You Need It Most

A TBI can be caused by a trauma that results in a bump, blow or jolt to the head or a penetrating head injury that disrupts normal brain function. Concussions, which are a type of brain injury, can result from an impact to the body causing the head to move rapidly back and forth.

Depending on the level of neurological disruption or damage the brain suffers, a traumatic brain injury is classified as mild, moderate or severe. People with mild TBI may retain the majority of their cognitive abilities, but experience serious emotional or behavioral changes. Additional symptoms of mild TBI may include blurred vision, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, disrupted sleep patterns and confusion.

Moderate TBI can cause loss of vision, trouble speaking, hematomas, brain swelling, intracranial infection, cardiac or lung problems, blood pressure problems and weakness in the extremities. The most severe traumatic brain injuries may result in a vegetative state, coma or a wrongful death.

TBI patients may face a lifetime of complications and medical care. Some are unable to work or care for their families or themselves. They need compensation that will cover their expenses over the long term.
